Versions prior to version v1.17, Photo Anonymizator, did not embed any 3rd party or Open Source software.
As of version v1.17, Photo Anonymizator uses the famous ExifTool open source project for scanning and modifying metadata attributes from a vast set of image and video formats from almost any commercially available camera model. To do so, Photo Anonymizator embeds and ships the associated ExifTool Perl code within the Photo Anonymizator distributable that you download via the Apple AppStore.
The ExifTool project is maintained by Phil Harvey and it is fair to say that his work is famous in the digital photo community. Besides the highly portable core tools provided by Phil himself many derivative software utilities have been built on top of it. As does Photo Anonymizator now.
